I saw it fit to give more information on British’s surgery. Before I do that let me tell you how my Mum acquired the nickname ‘British’. See, she’s very proper in all she does. She’s extremely neat, she speaks the Queen’s English and she can be bossy when it calls for. Infact my uncles call her ‘Mubritish’ then my siblings just shortened it to ‘British’.
Back to the main story, British suffers from severe rheumatoid arthritis which is a long-term disease that leads to inflammation of the joints and surrounding tissues. It also eats up the bone marrow which is the flexible tissue found in the interior of bones.
British had an ankle replacement which entailed them putting 4 screws to join the bones. My Mum could after the surgery but after a few years she got her leg amputated and that was it for her mobility. Now, due the immobility of her limb and the strokes, the screws have sort of ‘disjointed’ and they are ‘eating’ up her joint which leads to her always screaming and crying.
The surgery that we are going on and on about will have the screws removed and have an implant fixed on the joint. This will take away the pain that she is currently experiencing.
I have attached a picture so that you can visualize the urgency of the surgery.
Once again, thank you!
