The day Kenya was declared independent, my Mum was present. She had driven all the way from Kiambu to Langata to witness the big day. The parking lot was so full, she forgot where she had parked her car and opted to come for it the following day.
My Mum is 73 years and Kenya is 50. If anything, I feel Kenya grows younger by the day. Half a century in human years is not exactly young but Kenya somewhat behaves like a teenager. From her resilient nature, beautiful demure and an ambitious outlook in life, Kenya is truly an inspiration to me.

And just like a 15 year girl, Kenya always tries to look its best. Kenya shows off from all angles; raging from the plains of the Mara, the peaks of Mount Kenya, the exquisite beaches of Mombasa and the scrumptious fish meals of Kisumu.
Kenyans should try and look beyond its flaws and rise up to the occasion. Showing the world our 'Moran' spirit. Strong. Uncowered. United. Forever.
